Sample Preparation

Sample preparation is an essential stage in the analysis process. It takes place between sample taking and measuring the prepared sample by means of X-ray spectrometry or X-ray diffraction.

Depending on the type of sample, there are various ways to prepare it in such a way that the sample is ready for measurement.

For instance, a piece of rock will demand different preparation than a liquid sample. The final result however, will be the same - a sample in a cup, which can be placed in the spectrometer.

There are many different types of samples:

  • Rock material
  • Powder material
  • Metal
  • Liquids
