X'Pert Texture

X'Pert Texture – examining preferred crystallite orientations

X'Pert Texture helps analyze, calculate and visualize preferred crystallite orientations in all kinds of polycrystalline materials. An extensive range of graphical display options includes special 3D presentation modes for interpreting pole figures and orientation distribution function (ODF) plots.

Quantitative texture analysis

X'Pert Texture provides a full range of texture calculations. Pole figure measurements can be corrected for background intensities, defocusing effects and absorption in thin samples. ODFs are constructed using the WIMV method taking into account crystal symmetry (cubic, tetragonal, orthorhombic, trigonal, hexagonal, monoclinic) and sample symmetry (triclinic, orthorhombic). The calculated ODF data form the input for recalculation of pole figures and calculation of inverse pole figures.

New dimensions

The graphical facility of X'Pert Texture is a remarkably flexible tool, enabling you to examine data in a highly visual form and to manipulate images by means of intuitive mouse control.

Specific View options are available for pole figures, correction curves and ODFs.
